A world where we work with nature in all our projects instead of against it
Building with nature / Nature based solutions
Nowadays natural aspects are increasingly integrated and ecology is a preconditional aspect in projects. A recent example is the nitrogen problem in the Netherlands. Nature-based design principles can be used to strengthen the design. We should work with nature instead of against it.
With building with nature we can create an innovative and sustainable urban development where cities and nature are integrated. Which innovations are required to improve the use of nature and water to deal with the rising heat stress problems in cities? Are current water management systems a match for these changing conditions and how will the changes affect the ecological value of deltas? Can we improve or even invent new methods to ensure the supply of sufficient and reliable drinking water and purify wastewater in a sustainable way? How can we guarantee sufficient water depths for shipping?
Do you have any suggestions on how to do so? We challenge everyone to bring new ideas to the table! Your ideas do not have to provide a complete and overall answer to our broad research question. We are looking for concrete ideas, both small and large, rather than abstract thoughts. We are excited to discover more about your ideas, so go ahead and submit them!
